I was watching random movies all summer and there was one I was really enjoying but I never saw it all and I didn't get the title. It was about this poor woman (who I thought was gates mcfadden) who live in france and is a singer but can't get work and this one man singer just got fired form a club and they have dinner together and don't pay for it, then they decide that they can make money if she pretends to be a man pretending to be a woman as a singer and they get very famous for her act. They pretended to be gay pertners and moved into a fancier hotel near their new work and I think they got discovered when a guy sneaks in to thier room. The mans name was mr. Tobin I think and I don't remeber the womans name.. it was kinda old.

I figured it out finally, its "victor victoria" with Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston. (1982)!
