Which do you usually prefer when there's been on adaptation to the other? The book is usually better but sometimes the movie will do it justice. Then there's the rare instances where the book is written after the movie. Usually pretty crappy eh?

9 times out of 10 the book is usually better. I think a lot rides on your opinion of the author/book prior to the movie as well. Jodi Picoult's "The Tenth Circle" just got made into a movie and I just finished the book, which I loved (along with most of her other work) so my bias is already that the book will reign supreme. But we'll see!

Glad to fiind someone else who likes the book - as i love it but all my friends think its a load of rubbish (which it may be) but its weird how no one can just read it as a thriller action novel and see it as a controversial commentary on historical religion! I did however like the film too though . . . thought it did the book justice. |
