It is about this young man who encounters this old guy, I think a hitchhiker, and he ends up stalking him. he is some sort of demon. The young guy hooks up with this chick and she ends up shooting a cop outside a bus who was about to shoot him. she ends up getting kidnapped by the demon guy and is tied to two ends of cars I think, and gets ripped to two. the cops interview him again and say the demon guy has no identity. when driving him to prison the hero ceorces the cops at gunpoint to let him get to the demon guy and shoot him, which I think he eventually does by hitting him with his car. What movie was this?

Close slyfield, it's called The Hitcher, not the Hitchhiker. But the original stars C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer. I haven't seen the Sean Bean version but the original is great on IMDB the original hitcher scores 7.1/10 whereas the new version only scores 5.5/10. Go with the original my friend!
