Are the cultural differeneces between France and America reflected in the censoring of their films?

I think that french people see that there films are more tasteful then americans. i mean in the us if u have enough money and a crew u can make a movie about anything. france has more morals

Dobermann is a perfect example of a violent French movie



That is my favourite violent french movie, But i suppose there has been alot of controversial American movies made in France like the French connection 2 with Gene Hackman in the mid 1970's where they tie Gene Hackman up and turn him into a Herion addict and a more recent movie would be Kiss of the Dragon with Jet li involving more drug abuse and prostitution. I would say if theres any big names and huge budgets France will role out the carpet and forget about censorship but if you want to create a low budget movie in france with unheard of stars then France would complain about censorship.
