ok this is bothering me, hoping someone would know the movie or have ideas to help me find the movie.

This is what I remember:

The star is a Man, not tom cruise (i don't think) who has two children a son and daughter, they are in a tyrannic plot, they watch movies of a man who controls their lives and they take vials of stuff to keep them under the control of this tyrannic situation.

The man is off his vials of stuff and he starts to think for himself, he keeps it from his kids for most of the movie only to learn later that both his children have been off ever since their mom died 1year(s) earlier. The man was involved in her death, because he is a cop of some type? She died because she refused to be lead by this tyrannic life thing. The end of course is he fights to save the lives of everyone else.
