**Warning Contains Spoilers**
I went out and rented this yesterday, suffice to say I thought it was a good movie but lacking realism, the talking cow was yes amusing, but sadly the cast and directors of this movie where no mushroom specialists, those ones with a tiny black cap are not death caps, those look far more like mushrooms with black spore mold infection growing on them. A death cap looks absolutely nothing like a liberty cap. If their going to try and scare us all to death they could try to get the story and their facts straight. Ingestion of a poisonous mushroom takes half an hour for the effects to become apparent and anyone experiencing any negative effects suffers from debilitating stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting, you would not be having a fit 10 seconds after eating one. Amanita muscaria is the Mushroom they are blatantly confusing with Amanita phalloides (Death cap's) and Psilocybe semilanceata (liberty cap)'s in this terrible plot.. Druids used them to get high, no that was the celts and celtic shamans and they used the yellow underside of the cap. All Amanitas are deadly poisonous and muscaria would leave you in a comma like state, you wouldn't be running around the woods in the dark wielding a bloody big axe! People often make the misconception that Mushrooms arent poisonous and toadstools are, when in fact its the total opposite a large variety of mushrooms are poisonous and its the toadstools that are edible. Watchable but if your a Mushroom Hunter it'll have you wincing! Pure propaganda that looks more like its meant to scare kids into never trying magic mushrooms and a load of Rubbish! ![]() Last edited by epidemic : 08-30-2008 at 01:31 PM. |
