Rankin Bass’ semi known classic animated film The Wacky World of Mother Goose comes to Youtube. This movie was made in 1966 and is in fact the first Rankin Bass project the legendary Rankin Bass artist Paul Coker Jr. worked on. Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass decided that after the success they had with Rudolph, they would go start making feature length movies, teaming up with director Joseph E. Levine in order to do it. Their first was a movie combining live action and stop motion, called The Daydreamer. Their second project was this. But their most well known feature length film is Mad Monster Party. Along with their other treasures, this film is one of Rankin Bass’ finest works. Starring Margaret Rutherford as Mother Goose. Some of you might remember watching this on your local TV stations. The reason I like Rankin Bass is because I watched their Christmas specials growing up as a kid in the 90s. Rankin Bass have created such classics as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Mad Monster Party, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, and many others. But their most awesome creation has to be the 80s TV show Thundercats. They will have a live action movie set to come out in summer 2010, which might have a good blockbuster success.

I know this is not anime or what you are particularly used to but this is quality children's entertainment, and Anime sucks balls, dude. Anime is too violent and graphic compared to this. This is definitely something you would want your kids to watch. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 |
